Global Connections and Exchange Program

It is not a secret that the social sector in Tajikistan in great need of support. We started GYSD activities in early April, with organizing activities for younger student, such as Basic Computer skills, English classes. There was an idea for another social event, equip and repainting our school gym. The YLC of our ILC have decided to apply for RICOL grand. As a result our grant project “Friendship, sport and Health” has received $ 300 the main aim of this project is repairing and equipping the school gym.
There are a lot of young people live near our school. Most of the students which live near our school are not able to attend sports clubs of our town stadium because it is far away. Once we can organize several sports clubs such as; volleyball, basketball, light athletics and others in our school, we can invite the children to attend them. There are two young hopeful P.T teachers working in our school that can organize such kind of sports clubs in our School Gymnasium.
Younger youth of our school and from other schools of our town and from nearby kindergarten will be involved in our project. We could invite them to our school to take part in the sports clubs.
First we will announce that we need volunteers help for repairing and equipping the gym and then we will make the announcement to attend the sports clubs especially during summer holiday because not all the children can spend their holiday in summer camps. Instead of wasting their time they can attend the sports clubs of our school.

On the 10th of April we have organized “Books Day” at school. In this activity the students from 1 grade till 11th have participated and in result we collect 891 different books. In this way we have enriched our library.And also the students of 7-8 grades ment old books. The students of 8-11 grades participated in subbotnics . They have cleaned sport ground, schoolyard and flowerbeds.

On 17th of March we had guests in our ILC. We also invited teachers from schools. So we are students of ILC Sarband gathered about 8 o’clock and were waiting for the guest. Our guests were in our ILC about 11 olock. So students went out to meet our guests from school yard. But majority of them were waiting in ILC with national meeting with bread and salt. After that our guests introduced themselves the guest was from Bangladesh. His name was Nazrul Islam a director of GCE in Bangladesh. And together with him was Ms.Gulnoz. She is represented of Relief International in Tajikistan. And Mr.Nazrul works in Relief International in his country.   And during the discussions he told us about their ILCs, about his life, work and travels. He likes to travel and have been in more than 20 countries. And he told us bout importance of technology and Internet in our life. We are living in this century and it requires the knowledge of Internet, computer and foreign languages. He meant that youth use all technologies to learn something, to get some informs, widen their outlook, but not just play in computer games or make friends in Internet just for entertainment. After his discussion our students and teachers gave him a lot questions. Questions like about his country, his school, ILCs, students, personal life, hobby between them and Indians, and some questions were about his life. There were talks about Indian movies and stars. Mr Nazrul was very impressed about how Tajik students like to watch Indian movies and they told about the recent movies them watched. So, Tajik students have already some information about Bengali culture.
So our students were so glad to see so guests in our ILC. We had some shows   devoted to Navrooz holiday which we will have on March 21st and 22nd. First our students told them about Navruz, how it does celebrate in our country and abroad, what is the symbol of this holiday and so on.  Our guest before coming to Tajikistan searched in Internet about our country and learned more information and he said that our music is the same as Bengali. He knows our famous singer Shabnami Surayo.  And in general during discussion we find out there was many similarities between our countries and Bangladesh. We children of earth look after to each other only the difference is in color of skin.
She showed our Tajik dance Girls from ILC cooked one national food Oshi Brida and they brought it to our guests that they taste that. Then at the end we suggested some ideas like to have exchange program with Tajik and Bangladesh students and teachers. And organize any project between   Bangladesh we choose the topic Indian movies. And to have an International camp in summer. So it was some ideas proposed by students and Mr Nazrul. We were very happy to have guest. Not everyday we have guests in our ILC. The guests are God’s gift. And they want to have guests often. And I consider that this meeting our students remember one’s and forever.

On the 14th of March an English teacher Zeboniso Murodova had Literary Quiz with 10th “A” grade in ILC. Students during one month read many short stories from the book. And in this quiz they were divided into two teams. Spring and Stars were two teams. And the aim of this quiz is to introduce with some language structures and stories and educate in children the love to the books and interest to learning languages and culture to the learning language. This quiz plays a great role in educating the interest to literature and learning English. All materials were taken from the textbook 7th book. There were five task in the quiz. The first task was with true and false approach.  Teacher said sentences from any story and students should guess whether it was right or wrong. The second task was name the title of the story. And fourth was work with cards. Students filled the omitted words. And 5th work was with captains of the teams. They take a story and retell it.

Students were very happy at the end of the quiz. They participated with a great enthusiasm.  The mentor of   English Language teachers were presented in the quiz Zuhro Murodova and gave speech. She was also so happy to how students participated with great interest and showed their knowledge of English.

On the 11th of March we had contest “Best vocabulary Knower” among 11th grade. According to the decree of Ministry of Education languages teachers should organize vocabulary contest and give many vocabulary to students. It is the second year such kind of contest organized in Sarband School #1. This year this contest was for 11th graders. And the winner is Olimjoni Toir 11th “A” grade. The contest was consisting of 3 rounds. The first round students called as much as vocabulary they know, in second round they named international words and 3rd round was to make new words out of one word. At the end the certificate and prizes were given to all participants.

Zebo Murodova, Sarband

On 7th of March we are leaders celebrated international women’s day in our ILC. We invited teachers from other schools and some students. We started our show about 10 o’clock. Our teacher opened that with welcoming our guests and congratulated female students and teachers. After that Madina told about spring and spring holidays. Then students from 6th and students from English club told poems about spring. Mijgona and Zamira gave informs about history of this holiday and celebrating that. And students from 5th form and ILC students told poems about mother. Then ILC students told, translated and explained the meaning of every quotations and proverbs that they told. And of course quotations were devoted to mothers. Then teacher Zebo told the Russian story that why God made mothers. After that Olim with Madina acted this play in English one.  Then Mohira showed presentation about flowers and spelling each of them. After that 5th grade sang the song about flowers.  A game called Bingo was played; in this game all took part with pleasure. The aim of game was develop knowing presents that we can present to our mothers in this day. We all like when our mothers sang us songs when we were baby. And most interesting the 6th form students sang Lullaby songs.  After that we planted the friendship flower.  That was first part of our show in the second we had some games between girls. It was as a competition. And every ILC girl took part in that and some of them became winners of every competition. The competition was consisting of five rounds: Ms Diplomat, Ms .best future wife, Ms Best wife house, Ms Beauty and Ms Best future mother.  We made small coffee break then presented some presents to our girls and teacher from ILC. The day was excellent and every one who took part in this show was very happy.   The guests were very happy to participate in this lesson.

The contest was organized from the side of Relief International Schools Online organization devoted to International Women’s day. Students in ILC participated actively in the contest and submitted their work. They should show a picture of the woman and explain it. So our student Olim Mengyarov took the second play for this work. And he will get for his work USB flash Card as a prize. And to more works also will get prizes. The most difficult job to woman it is to be a doctor. This profession is hard and difficult, because if you are a doctor that there will be the moment that in your hands the life of one person. If suddenly doctor do one small mistake it cost persons life. First of all it is difficult become good doctor and true what hardships overcome .And in this picture we can see our hospital, how the woman doctor helped to other woman to born the child, to come to the world one other person or alive other one God’s creation.  And in our town is one well known midwife, she is Gulru Ergashevna. In my society all women go to her if they have any illnesses. She is experienced, active, beautiful and smart. And I know that what kind of difficulties she had to overcame. In every society people go to good educated doctor and overcame with majority hardships that were in his or her job way.

On the 5th of March students from school #1 and English club were invited to village school #4 in our town Sarband to join them in celebrating the 8th of March, International Women’s Day. Students from ILC for the first time visit village school and become very happy to meet new friends. It is good that town schoolchildren be aware about conditions of village schools. And village schoolchildren are very curious and active. In some village school there are not enough teachers and no experienced one too. The whole winter they had not electricity. And town schools of our town are very lucky that they have all conditions, best teachers, electricity, and resources. But they do not study well. Village schoolchildren are very busy with field work and house work at home. And have little time for study. Anyway some even take their books with them in the field or in the meadow while working. So students had nice time together and exchanged with dove of friendship and gifts. Now we will invite them to all our activities. The village schoolchildren become very inspired when they attended some of our activities.

In our town by our Mayor of our town Mr. Hikmatullo Rajabov the new academic year was announced “Knowledge year”. And every teacher due to this year created different activities and events at school such as: quizzes, shows, open lessons and different clubs and contests. On the 20th of February devoted to the Knowledge year a young teacher Zeboniso Murodova had knowledge show or ABC show with 5th grades students. Students learned all letters of English alphabet and sing different songs and read poems about each letters. And make dialogues and play different games. Parents and teachers were invited to this show and representative of Local Government were presented too. Ms Zeboniso teaches in this class from the beginning of school year and now her students have a good knowledge of English. And in this lesson all were very happy. The most interesting part was when students at the beginning sang our national Hymn in English. Parents were  very happy to see the knowledge of their children.

Everybody knows that the 14th of February is a holiday, St. Valentine’s Day. And of course we always celebrate different holidays in our Internet Learning Centre. And we also celebrated St. Valentines Day on the 14th of February. We prepared ourselves about one week, in order to make a holiday and invite other pupils from the other schools to take part in our celebrating. Our teacher Zebo also helped us to make a plan for our holiday. And on the 14th of February we invited all pupils from schools to our ILC, and we also invited pupils from Batrabad school. But it so pity because not everybody came to our ILC, because of concert. On the 14th of February was concert in order to St. Valentines Day, and majority of our students went to the concert, which took place in the down town in the House of Culture. But in spite of all this things we celebrated our St. Valentines Day. To our ILC came students from Batrabad Village school #4, they came with their teacher. And we were so glad to introduce with them. We invite pupils from other schools because our aim was to find new friends and make friendship between our schools. And another aim to make friendship between village and town schools. I think that we made. What about our holiday, we began our show at 2 :30. In the first of all I have told about the legend of this holiday. I also made a poster in order this holiday. So I told about St. Valentines Day and about Symbols of this holiday. After it Olim has told us about HEART. Certainly everyone know that heart is a main organ of our organism, and the main symbol of love. We asked our pupils and guests about heart, and they with pleasure answered on our questions. After it all our pupils were singing a song “Titanic”. After this song everybody told their poems about love and then we were singing the hymn of this holiday “You are my sunshine”. Then Olim sang a song of Elvis Presley “Love me tender, love me sweet.”, and after Olim I sang a song “those were the days my friend’. And the main singer was our teacher Zebo; she has sung a song of Madonna. After our Music box, we started our games. Everyone took part in our games and they were very happy. Our first game was to read a secret massage, then another game “Feelings” we sang a song and showed our feelings. Also we played other interesting games and we were so tied and merry. We had fun. After games we cut doves and write our wishes to the pupils from the school #4, and they write their regards to us. We presented our doves and then pupils from Batrabad went away. And we were presented our valentines to each other. After it we had coffee break. We made Osh, after our coffee break we were telling different poems and present one small heart to our teacher. One our girl Mahina sewed that heart and writes all our names on the heart. Our teacher was very glad. And then we congratulated each other with St. Valentines Day and went to our homes.
